Ecoteas Video Release in New Zealand

La Pachamama returns to Argentina!
While we were recently in Argentina, we bumped into one of our distributors Boots-Off Travellers' Centre in Nelson. Glen is a friend of ours and he kindly provided these snaps for our website. We were unable to make a visit to Misiones, so it is great to be able to share some pictures from the old plantation with our customers.

We bumped into Glen at the Airport and even shared a seat all the way back to New Zealand. Such a small world we live in. We hope that the Boots-Off staff enjoy the new mates Glen brought back.

Since the new shipment arrived we've been very busy preparing our new specials. We hope that you will find something of value in there.

Kraus Organic is a family business, and as we've said in previous posts their vision and values make them a leading light for sustainable development in South America. We share in their commitment to the end user that buying the best quality yerba mate does not mean expensive prices (See our price list to judge for yourself).

We are very excited to see how long our limited stocks of Ecoteas last. Our last shipment was gone in a few months. We also have new sizes of the certified organic range - in faact we opened one of the 5Kg sacks last week and were suprised to see that there is less stick than in the 500g packages (as you will see in the Ecoteas video).

Ecoteas is a highly popular brand of yerba mate, and as this video attests, they don't sell organic, they are organic. This company part-owned by Kraus Organic have released this video which we have obtained permission to show on Youtube to our customers and visitors. This promotional video is a great 5 minute film all about yerba mate and about Ecoteas sustainable business model.

Sustainble Sourcing and Outsourcing | La Pachamama Yerba Mate

Running a sustainable Organic Tea Company in Australia and New Zealand

Recently we met with Milton Kraus from Kraus Organic to discuss yerba mate in both Australia and New Zealand for the next year. La Pachamama is committed to delivering a high quality sustainble product. The Kraus and Ecoteas brands are superior brands with a wide selction of flavours and yerba types. The organic certification and the fair trade practices have allowed La Pachamama to target a niche market in New Zealand and Australia which is growing each year. In choosing the right partners the superior quality products of Kraus and Ecoteas need a similarly principled distribution network so that from Plantation to Pantry shelf, our customers have confidence that ther choice for organic tea drink has had as low an impact on the environment as possible as well as supported communities of similar values. this is our promise to our customers and having chosen the best suppliers, we have also recently shifted our website and in the process significantly upgraded our on-line shopping. 4 Acres Limited (our Application Service Providers) are currently working towards being carbon neutral by 2010.
We are also working on our freight options, although given the geographical challenges of servicing both New Zealand and Australian customers this is a work in progress. We will almost certainly be utilising Urgent Couriers who are carbon neutral at present.
Lastly we will be doing some work with our distributors to ensure that their customers are getting access to the product information they need to make an informed choice about their organic hot drink.
