Sydney 2011 Organic Expo And Green Show
5-7 August 2011, Hall 3, Sydney Exhibition Centre
We had such a fantastic time at the show last weekend. We've taken some pics and thrown them in a slide show to share. Click here to view in Picasa
We were there under invite from the Argentinean Consulate General. The Embassy was raising awareness of the strength of the organics industry and to show case some of the better examples of sustainable business practices going on in that country.
The Kraus family farm cultivates and produces yerba mate across the world and is accredited for fair trade and certified organic. The harvesting and manufacturing of product is also managed using sustainable business practices meaning that biodiversity is enhanced where ever possible and nutrients are recycled to avoid resource depletion.
We met some great people at the show whom we think you should check out:
World Organics (skincare and wellbeing) products
KiwiOrganics (grains, corn flour, polenta, pop corn)
Koh-i-Noor (eco-efficient spin dryer)
GenEzentials (innovative and sustainable non perrishable consumer goods)
Pure Bamboo (natural Moso Bamboo charcoal products)
Burragum Organic Beer
Questions that we were unable to answer at the Expo that will soon be posted...
Does the high tannin content in yerba mate assist with purifying the blood?
Are the soils of Missiones (where all our tea is produced) naturally high in levels of Chromium (which is the essential compound for the transfer of sugars and insulin into the cell)?
Why can't we find Dulce de Leche in Australia?
